Langley wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they tallied 4 runs on 5 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Derrek Lee who disappointed the partisan crowd when he blasted a two-run home run (his 29th of the season). Burbank had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Mark Mulder(8-8) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Justin Speier earned his 4th save. Barry Zito(9-10) was hit with the loss. He allowed 13 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. 'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Mulder said, 'this was one of those times.'
